It is with great sadness and sense of loss that I come to find the passing of John Rodick, a man that as a child, I looked up to with great respect and admiration being that Big John was the brother of my best friend Tommy Rodick. We knew of Big John going off to War and would often think about him when we the neighborhood kids would fantasize about our own war-games. The peculiar thing about The Florios moving from Brooklyn to Uniondale in 1963 was when we met the Rodick Family. Parents John Sr. and Helen had Big John and Carol who were already adults, but what was really odd was that they had Jimmy, we had myself Joey,They Tommy, We Tommy RIP, They Bobby, We Robert, They Stephanie, We Darlene. Almost a mirror image of Family. That fostered great friendships and memories, I value my whole life. We all played baseball together coached by my Dad and Mr. Rodick, and we had enough kids in the neighborhood to continue all sports every season. May I say in remembrance God Bless The Rodick Family in Heaven and My Best Friend Tommy!
