Obituary for Joan A. Boudreau

Joan A. Boudreau, 85, a longtime Main Street resident, died Thursday at Kimball Farms Nursing Care Center in Lenox. Born on February 15, 1931 in Littleton, NH, she was a daughter of the late John and Agnes Page Ross. She was educated in Littleton schools and was a 1948 graduate of Littleton High School. She married her husband, the late James E. (Ted) Boudreau, on October 14, 1950. A homemaker, Mrs. Boudreau took great joy in raising her family with Ted, who died December 12, 2014. She was employed as a secretary at several organizations within Berkshire County, including Schaefer Eaton, General Electric, Equifax, and Berkshire Medical Center. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church where she was active in the Rosary Society, Eucharistic Ministry, and sang for many years in the church choir with her dear friend, Lois Cavanaugh. She was a lifelong member of Beta Sigma Phi, a sorority dedicated to community service. She had a strong interest in any effort dedicated to the welfare of children, and volunteered for many years for the Pregnancy Support Group in Pittsfield. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband and family at their cottage on Long Lake in Bridgton, Maine. She leaves four daughters; Michele A. Franklin Gottung and her husband John of Pittsfield, Cheryl M. Boudreau of Pittsfield, Denise L. Schuler of Hinsdale and Lisa J. Cachat of Pittsfield, and a son; Ken J. Boudreau and his significant other; Peggy Reilly of Hinsdale. She was very close with her sister; Rita Maitland of Lenox and her brother; Robert Ross and his wife Doria of Lake George, NY. She was predeceased by her brother; the late Stanley Ross of Laconia, New Hampshire. She leaves her fifteen beloved grandchildren; Alyssa, Aaron, Tara, David, Rachel, Kayla, Shaun, Jordan, Shane, Jared, Amanda, Brian, Tim, Dylan and Adam; eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed a special relationship with extended family including Mark Franklin, Michael Crow, Donna Dumas and the Cavanaugh family. The Boudreau family

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Joan A. Boudreau, 85, of Dalton who died February 25, 2016 will be held Monday at 9:15 AM from the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by the Rev. Christopher Malatesta, pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 5 to 7 PM at the Dery-Foley Funeral Home. Memorial donations in memory of Joan may be made to the Helen Berube Teen Parent Program in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
