Obituary for William N. Till

William Nicholas Till, 91, formerly of Windsor, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at
Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility in Pittsfield.
Born in Adams on November 3, 1925, the son of Nicholas and Catherine Bator Till, he was educated in Windsor schools.
A World War II veteran, Mr. Till enlisted with the United States Army Air Forces on October 2, 1943. He served most of his duty with the 1264th Army Air Force Base Unit in North Africa. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on July 4, 1946.
Mr. Till was employed by J.H. Maxymillian, Inc., as a heavy equipment operator.
He was a founding member of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department.
He enjoyed performing in and attending Blue Grass Festivals, was an avid Patriots fan,
and also was an avid pilot.
Mr. Till's wife, the former Alberta Jean Moody Brady, whom he married October 3, 1987, died October 10, 2016.
Mr. Till is survived by a son, Michael W. (and Gaynor) Till of Richmond; two stepsons, Thomas Brady of Pittsfield and Patrick Brady of Windsor; a stepdaughter, Nanette (and David) Pelkey of Crown Point, New York; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren; and three
sisters, Dorothy Pritz and Mary Hamilton, both of Florida, and Barbara Sturtevant
of Windsor.
He was pre-deceased by a son, William F. Till, his former wife, Jean H. Northwood Till, his step-daughter, Dorothy "Dody" Brady, and his stepdaughter-in-law, Patricia Brady.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for William Nicholas Till will be held Thursday, November 10, at 7:00
p.m., at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton with Rev. Charles P. Young, a Chaplain with
HospiceCare in The Berkshires, officiating. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at
4:00 p.m.
Burial will be on Friday, November 11, at 11:00 a.m., at Windsor Hill Cemetery in Windsor.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Till may be made to the Windsor Fire
Department or to Moments House, both in care of DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 East Main
Street, Dalton.
