Obituary for William J. Spaniol

WILLIAM JOSEPH "NOBY" SPANIOL, 86, of 106 Madison Avenue, Pittsfield,died Thursday morning at his home.Born in Pittsfield, August 10, 1921, the son of Frank and Catheryn Heffron
Spaniol, he was a 1937 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Mr. Spaniol was first employed by the former Wyandotte Worsted Mills in Pittsfield where he worked for nearly twenty years. He then went to work Peter J. Schweitzer Mills in Lee from where he retired.
He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who also enjoyed fishing.His wife, the former Edith Farrington, whom he married in October 1948, died December 28, 1968.
Mr. Spaniol is survived by a son, William Krebs of Pittsfield; a daughter, Dawn M. Fillio of Lee; three grandchildren and one great grandson. He also leaves his long-time companion, Linda Thomas.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for WILLIAM JOSEPH "NOBY" SPANIOL, will be held Sunday, October 7, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. A memorial service
Will be held Monday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Helena's Chapel in Lenox, with
Rev. Daina Salnitis, Rector, as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Spaniol may be made to St. Helena's Chapel or to HospiceCare in the Berkshires, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Spaniol also leaves his son-in-law, Donald; daughter-in-law, Joan, and three grandchildren, Adam Krebs, Matthew Fillio, Amanda Fillio, and his great grandson, John Adam Krebs.
He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Donald, Harold, James, Joseph, Kenneth,
Richard, and Robert, and his sisters, Mary Carderella, Marguerite Cultrera, Charlotte
Filliault, and Katherine Lester.
