Obituary for William M. Pensivy Sr.

WILLIAM 'PICKLES' MITCHELL PENSIVY, SR., 76, of Michelle Manor, 40 Linden Street, Pittsfield, died Tuesday morning at his home.
Born in Lenox Dale, November 21, 1930, he was the son of Mitchell and Anna Dulfied
Pensivy, and was a graduate of Lenox High School.
Mr. Pensivy had been employed for more than twenty-five years in the Ordnance
Department, Building 41, of General Electric Company, and retired in 1992. He had also
worked at Kelly Lumber and had, at one time, been General Manager of Bousquet Ski Area.
During the summer following high school graduation, he played trumpet with the Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood.
He enjoyed country music and dancing, and was a proud supporter of the Massachusetts
Lottery.His wife, the former Shirley A. Stockley, whom he married in 1953, died November 5,
1975. Mr. Pensivy is survived by two sons, Michael J. Pensivy of Dalton, and William M.
Pensivy, Jr., of Pittsfield; a daughter, Michelle R. Pensivy of Pittsfield; a sister, Frances J.
Nicholas of Brattleboro, Vermont, ten stepchildren, four grandchildren and many step grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for WILLIAM 'PICKLES' MITCHELL PENSIVY, SR., who died
Tuesday, January 2, will be Friday, January 5, at 10:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME,
with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich,officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. . In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Pensivy may be made to American Heart Association in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Pensivy was the loving grandfather of Crystal M. Pensivy, Michael A. Pensivy, Shirley A. Crosier, and Deanna I. Crosier. He was pre-deceased by his long-time companion,Glenna Nolan, as well as five brothers and two sisters.
