Obituary for William "Billy" Mullett
William "Billy" David Mullett 65 of Pittsfield, MA passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a 5 year battle with HCC Cancer.
He was born in Pittsfield, MA on February 14, 1957 the son of the late Lawrence E. Mullett, Sr., and Marion A Lapp. He was a graduate of Taconic High School Class of 1975. He loved to play both street and ice hockey, basketball, softball and darts. He was an avid Boston Celtics fan as well as a Minnesota Vikings, and a Dodgers fan. Billy worked at LTI Smart Glass for 15 years before having to retire due to the cancer. Billy became an avid woodworker and enjoyed participating in family gatherings near and far.
He leaves behind his loving and caring wife of 45 years, Bonnie Clapper whom he married on June 18, 1977, his daughter Melissa Mullett Wesley of Torrington, CT, his son Shawn Mullett of Pittsfield, MA, his honorary bonus daughter Victoria Sorrentino of Lee, MA, his 4 grandchildren -Madyson and Jasmyn Wesley, both of Pittsfield, MA, Brady Wesley of Torrington, CT, and Justin Mullett of Pittsfield, MA, and his loving dog COCO.
Billy also leaves behind the following - a sister Mary (Paul) Mullett Melanson of Peru, MA, sister - in - laws: Colleen Hunter Mullett of Dalton, Judy Mullet of Pittsfield, Sally Clapper Niks (Al) of Georgia, LouAnn Clapper (Dot Hamilton) Pittsfield, brother-in-laws: Robert (Mary) Clapper of TX, Mark (Theresa) Clapper of NJ, Edward Clapper of Pittsfield, Peter Clapper of CA. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and his extended family.
He was predeceased by his brothers: Lawrence "Larry" Mullett, Jr., of Dalton, Paul Mullett, Barry Mullett, and Scott Mullett all of Pittsfield.
In his honor the family would like to thank the following people for being pallbearers: Shawn Mullett, Neil Wesley, Chrissy Melanson, Zachary Sorrentino, Sean "Des" Desautels, and Mark Clapper. The honorary pallbearers: Carrie Anderson, Ralph and Heather Porras.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held TUESDAY, March 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held MONDAY, March 28, 2022 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, family and friends can make a donation to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home in Memory of William "Bill" Mullett.
