Obituary for William K. Marlowe

William Kenneth Marlowe, 90, of 121 Elberon Avenue, Pittsfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 28, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in North Adams on February 27, 1926, the son of Ernest V. and Melinda Parkhurst
Marlowe, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A World War II veteran, he enlisted with the United States Army on January 11, 1945. He earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and was honorably discharged on November 16, 1946.
Bill we was employed as a Customer Service Manager for over 35 years at Beloit Corporation.
Bill was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. He was a 24-year volunteer with
HospiceCare in The Berkshires, volunteered his time with the Berkshire Medical Center and was a Eucharistic Minister.
He enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and was an avid sports fan, particularly the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. However, it was his family who mattered most to him.
Bill was pre-deceased by his loving wife of 61 ½ years, the former Katherine J. Eberle, whom he married May 27, 1950, and died November 24, 2011.
He is survived by his children: Paul Marlowe and his wife, Gail, of South Windsor, Conn., and their children, Kristin and Jeffrey; Jane Marlowe and her husband, Walter Harkness, of Bedford, New Hampshire, and their children, Jill, Jeffrey, and Michael; Jacqueline Silva and her husband, John, of Narragansett, Rhode Island, and their children, Amber and Danielle, Carol Ann Carlo and her husband, Charles, of Cheshire, and their children, Trisha, Jessica, Brittany, and Rachael; and John Marlowe and his wife, Pasha, of Ellicott City, Maryland, and their children, Joshua, Emily, and James; three great granddaughters, Isabella, Gianna, and Bella; and his dear friend, Carol Burt.
He was pre-deceased by a son, James W. Marlowe.




FUNERAL NOTICE:
Calling hours for William K. Marlowe will be held Friday, December 30, from 4:00 to
7:00 p.m., at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, at 9:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor.
Burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires or to the James W. Marlowe Memorial Scholarship Fund, both in care of DERY-
FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, 890 Main Street, Dalton.
