Obituary for William R. Marco Sr.

WILLIAM R. MARCO, SR., 66, a resident of RiverRun Apartments in Dalton since 2002, and prior to that, a resident of Maple Street, Dalton, died Tuesday morning at his home.
Born in Adams, November 10, 1939, son of Raymond W. and Lillian M. Koch Marco, he was educated in Adams, and Dalton schools and received a General Equivalency Diploma, and later attended Berkshire
Community College.He served in the United States Army where he was assigned to an ammunition
Depot in France during peacetime.
Mr. Marco owned and operated a maintenance business. Previously, he had
Been employed by Sears in appliance repair, had been a salesman at the former Zayre
Department store, and had worked for Central Radio in North Adams and for Jack and Harry's in North Adams.He enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, playing cribbage, was an
Avid outdoorsman, and enjoyed watching trains.
His wife, the former Dolores M. DeMarsico, whom he married October 3,1959, died October 20, 2003.
Mr. Marco is survived by three sons, William R. Marco, Jr., of Dalton, John
J. Marco of Hudson, Iowa, and Michael Marco and Concord, New Hampshire; two
daughters, Pamela Porter of Pittsfield, and Tracy Willard of Turners Falls, Massachusetts; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Sandy A. Marco, late of Pittsfield, who died in 1973.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for WILLIAM R. MARCO, SR., who died Tuesday, November 7, will be Friday, November 10, at 12:00 noon at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME,with Rev. Richard E. Hayes, Chaplain for HospiceCare in The Berkshires, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Marco may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
