Obituary for William B Larcombe

William B. Larcombe, 83, of Brookline Avenue, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility.

Born in Barre, Vermont on June 26, 1935, the son of Harold and Gertrude Larcombe, he was educated in Vermont schools and was a graduate of Spaulding High School in Barre and a graduate of the Salvation Army College for Officer Training in Suffern, New York.

A life-long member of The Salvation Army, Mr. Larcombe served as a minister with the Corps, and was its store supervisor and warehouse supervisor for 45 years retiring in May 2000.

Further to his Salvation Army ministry, Mr. Larcombe was a member of the Pittsfield Eagles Band where he played baritone horn.

Mr. Larcombe leaves his wife of 26 years, the former Elizabeth A. Cardella, whom he married August 27, 1992.

He is also survived by his children Vickie Cornish (husband David) of Windham, Conn., Billie (husband Charles) Gregory of Lenexa, Va., Glenn Larcombe of Adams, Joel (wife Karen) Larcombe of Great Lakes, Il., and Tom (wife Heather) Larcombe of Conifer, Co.; his stepchildren, Frank (Linda) Leskovitz of Pittsfield, Timothy (wife Pamela) Leskovitz of West Palm Beach, Fla., Joseph Leskovitz of Becket, and Alexander (wife Jennifer) McNulty of Pittsfield; as well as 19 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by a brother, Thomas Larcombe, and a sister, Lee Buzzard.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for William B. Larcombe will be held Tuesday, September 18, at 11:00 a.m. at The Salvation Army, 300 West Street, Pittsfield with Capt. Elliott Higgins, Commanding Officer of the Pittsfield Corps, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
