Obituary for William Fugman Jr.

WILLIAM FUGMAN, JR., 65, of 68 Pinecrest Drive, Dalton, died Wednesday,
January 2, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, October 10, 1942, the son of Marion Hinkley Fugman
and the late William Fugman, Sr., he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. He
attended Hudson Valley Community College and earned a bachelor's degree from
Western New England College.
He had served in the United States Army Reserves.
Mr. Fugman had been employed by Crane & Co., Inc. as a project engineer for
twenty-nine years retiring as of January 1.
Prior to that, he worked as a draftsman for Beloit Jones for 16 years.
He served on the Board of Directors for the Dalton Community Recreation
Association for many years and was the 2004 recipient of the Gib Kittredge award.
Mr. Fugman leaves his wife, the former Loretta A. Wary whom he married
September 29, 2001.
His first wife, the former Diana Shepardson, died October 1, 1995.
Besides his wife and his mother, Mr. Fugman is survived by two sons, Gary M.
Fugman of Ghent, New York, Todd W. Fugman of Bartelsville, Oklahoma; two stepsons,
Thomas Doyle of Dalton and Michael Doyle of Yardley, Pennsylvania; a stepdaughter,
Linda Hallin, of Littleton, Massachusetts; a sister, Janice Lorenz, one granddaughter and
five stepgrandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for WILLIAM FUGMAN, JR., who died Wednesday, January 2,
will be Saturday, January 5, at 8:15 a.m. from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, celebrated by Rev.
Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling
hours will be Friday, 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mr. Fugman may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires, Dalton Community Recreation Association, or to Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton.
