Obituary for Wayne L. Holmes
Wayne Lewis Holmes, 64, of 130 Appleton Avenue, Pittsfield, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Rockland, Maine, on August 24, 1948, the son of Ansil and Mildred Townsend Holmes, he was educated in Rockland, Maine, and Lee, Massachusetts,
schools. A Viet Nam War veteran, he enlisted with the United States Army on October 27,
1967, served as a Private Second Class, and was honorably discharged on November 27,
1970. Mr. Holmes was the owner-operator of Got To Be Clean Janitorial Services in
Pittsfield for five years.
He enjoyed his freedom outdoors, especially fishing, even though he was handicapped. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, as well.
Mr. Holmes leaves his wife, the former Connie M. Williams, whom he married
April 12, 1980.
Besides his wife, Mr. Holmes is survived by two sons, Jamie L. Holmes and his
wife, Nicole, of Pittsfield, and Michael C. Holmes and his wife, Barbara, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Christy Babbs and her husband, Jason, of Pittsfield; a sister, Bonnie Greenwood of Canaan, Connecticut, and four grandchildren, Jason, Mickenlee, Alanna,
and Jaycee.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Wayne Lewis Holmes will be held Monday, December 17, from
3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will be private. In lieu
of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Holmes may be made to his family to help defray final expenses.
