Obituary for Wanda Rose McCluskey

Wanda Rose McCluskey, age 77, of Hinsdale, passed away April 28th, after a courageous
Battle with leukemia surrounded by her loving family.
Wanda was born in West Virginia, daughter of Robert McVey and Edna Riley. She moved to
Pittsfield at age 15. She graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1954.
Wanda was a seamstress by trade. She worked at Newberry's, Pajama Factory, Berkshire
Coat Factory, Jennifer House, London Fog, and retired from Shaffer Eaton.
She was a lifelong communicant of St. Charles Church.
Her joy in life was her family and always taking care of them and sewing them something.
Her other love was camping at Wakeda in New Hampshire. She and her husband, Leon, the love of
her life, began camping there in 1982.
During the course of her illness, when she could not stay alone, she would stay at her
son and daughter-in-law's house where she enjoyed watching the deer, turkeys, and other abundant
Wildlife.
Her husband, Leon William McCluskey, whom she married April 16, 1955, died November
9, 1992.
Wanda is survived by her son, Leon R. McCluskey, her daughter-in-law, Lynne, her daughter,
Bonnie J. Avery and her son-in-law, Bill; her grandchildren, Leon and his fiancée Kayla, Jon Avery and
his fiancée Sarah, Alysssa McCluskey, Reed McCluskey, and his companion, Kayleigh, Pamela Powell; seven great grandchildren, Adrianna (Doodlebug), Laney, Damian, Sophia, Logan, Markcus, Samantha.
Wanda is also survived by her two sisters, Janet and Della, and her two brothers, Russell and
Raymond.
She was pre-deceased by a granddaughter, Diana Lynn.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Wanda Rose McCluskey will be held Friday, May 2, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial
Contributions may be made to Springside Rehabilitation and SCC Activities Department in care of
DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
