Obituary for Virginia M. Plant

VIRGINIA M. 'GINGER' PLANT, 87, of 40 Crane Avenue, Dalton, died Thursday evening at Springside of Pittsfield where she had resided since January 19,2005.
Born in Bound Brook, New Jersey, January 30, 1919, she was a daughter of
LeaGrand and Anna Beatty Mundy, and was educated in New Jersey schools.Mrs. Plant was a homemaker.
She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, music, singing, and dancing. She especially enjoyed making outfits for her family. Her husband, Isadore E. "Izzy" Plant, whom she married July 31, 1937, in
Bound Brook, New Jersey, died June 15, 1993.
Mrs. Plant is survived by a son, David L. Plant of Dalton; three daughters, Marie
M. Casella of Pittsfield, Berniece Noyes of Dalton, and Donna L. Houghtlin of Dalton; two sisters, Dorothy Price of Dalton, and Evelyn Scrape of Manville, New Jersey; 20 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, and 3 great great
grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a daughter, Beverly M. Brodeur died June 27,
2005.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for VIRGINIA M. 'GINGER' PLANT, who died Thursday,
August 31, will be Tuesday, September 5, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL
HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Church, celebrated
by Rev. Christopher A. Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery.
There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Plant
may be made to Dalton Ambulance and Rescue in care of the Funeral Home, 890 East
Main Street, Dalton.
