Obituary for Virginia M. Mongeon

VIRGINIA MAY MONGEON, 76, of 6 Glenns Road, Lanesborough, Massachusetts, died Monday at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, May 18, 1930, a daughter of John and Blanche
Royer Fox, she was a 1947 graduate of Pittsfield High School.Primarily a homemaker, Mrs. Mongeon had been also been employed by Stop & Shop Supermarkets as a front end clerk and head cashier from 1986 to 1993.She was a communicant of North American Martyrs Church in Lanesborough.
She leaves her husband, Archie C. Mongeon, whom she married March 3, l95l,in Pittsfield.
Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, Steven D. Mongeon of
Pittsfield, Brian F. Mongeon of Dalton, Massachusetts, Craig J. Mongeon of Dedham,
Massachusetts, and Allan C. Mongeon of Savoy, Massachusetts; three daughters,
Kathy A. Shallies of Dalton, Sheryl J Davis of Burlington, Vermont, and Joanne E.
Rosier of Lanesborough, a brother, John J. Fox of Danvers, Massachusetts, and Joan
Rathbun of Lanesborough; three sons-in-law, including Steven Shallies, and three
daughters-in-law, as well as 16 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Mongeon will be Friday, December 22, at 1 PM at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Lanesborough. Calling hours will be
Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs.
Mongeon may be made to the Lanesborough Fire Department or to the Berkshire
Visiting Nurse Association in care of the Funeral Home.
