Obituary for Virginia M. Keach

VIRGINIA MARY KEACH, 85, a resident of 108 Cheshire Road, Pittsfield
since 1972, and long-time resident of Pittsfield, died Wednesday morning at home.
Born in West Cornwall, Connecticut, April 25, 1922, the daughter of James and
Myra Howe Lowell, she was educated in Connecticut schools.
Mrs. Keach had been employed as a clerk at the former Neisner's Department
Store in Pittsfield where she worked for 20 years prior to her retirement in 1973. Prior to
going to Neisner's, she worked at Wohrle's Foods in Pittsfield for 5 years in the l950s.
She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in Pittsfield. She was a
member of The Women's Club of Pittsfield. She enjoyed being with her family and
friends, and her dog "Tiki".
Her husband, Robert W. Keach, whom she married July 21, 1951, in Canaan,
Connecticut, died May 14, 1995.
Mrs. Keach is survived by a son, William C. Hart of Dalton; two daughters, Jean
M. Piegza of Pittsfield and Dawn F. Hanson of Richmond; a brother, Russell Lowell of
Canaan, Connecticut; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for VIRGINIA MARY KEACH, who passed away at home,
surrounded by family and friends, on Wednesday, November 21, will be Saturday,
November 24, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. James K.
Joyce, Pastor. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday,
from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in
memory of Mrs. Keach may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of
the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mrs. Keach leaves her daughter-in-law, Concetta Hart; three sons-in-law, Robert
Furlano, Alan Hanson, and Don Piegza; and her six grandchildren, Christine Piegza and
her husband, Christopher Eckert, Scott Piegza and his fianc�e, Liberty Luciano, John
Williams, Timothy Williams, Sharon Williams, and Robert Williams. She was pre-deceased by two brothers and two sisters.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to everyone at HospiceCare
in The Berkshires who cared for Virginia.
