Obituary for Virginia Victoria Griffin
Virginia Victoria Griffin, 97, of Pittsfield, went to be with the Lord on May 30, 2022, at Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Victor C. and Hilda Paul Vroom, she was a graduate of Staten Island High School.
She married Edward E. Griffin on Oct. 15, 1948. He predeceased her in 1980. Mrs. Griffin was primary a homemaker, but at one time worked for Dr. Zeff at Hillcrest Hospital as a physician’s assistant.
She is survived by her children, Patricia M. Bernier and her husband Donald Bernier of Pittsfield, Shirley A. Rigdon of Lehigh Acres, FL, John F Griffin and his wife Nancy of Lenox, MA, Kathleen J. Maconga and husband John of Pittsfield, James E. Griffin and wife Denise of Denver, PA, Maureen E. Miller and husband Howard of Denver, PA. She also has twenty grandchildren and forty-three great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Griffin was predeceased by her mother Hilda Johnson and her husband Rev. Alfred Johnson, her great-granddaughter Ryanne E. Lancto, and son in law Oscar J. Rigdon.
The family wants to give special thanks the Greylock Extended Care staff for the excellent and loving care they gave our mom for the last several years, we appreciate it from the bottom of our heart.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Service will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in her name to the Charity of your choice or Brightside Adoption Service of Holyoke, MA and mailed to DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA.
