Obituary for Viola Towne
Viola May Towne, 91, formerly of Pittsfield, passed away March 14, 2022 at Mt. Carmel Care Center where she had resided since May 2021.
Born in Pittsfield on September 11, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Thelma (Kubli) Clemons.
She was a 1949 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She married the late Warren A. Towne on July 30, 1955. He predeceased her in October 1988
Mrs. Towne was a CNA at Springside Nursing home and a home health aid at Gentiva.
She was active at the Christian Assembly Church and the Children’s Group Rainbows.
Mrs. Towne is survived by her four children, Henry A. Towne of Pittsfield; Paul W. Towne, and his wife Vizon of South Carolina; Lawrence C. Towne, and his wife Karen of Pittsfield and Thelma R. Towne of Pittsfield, and two grandchildren, Adelina and Eric Primavera.
She was predeceased by her husband Warren A. Towne and her brothers, Charles Clemons and Lawrence Clemons.
The family would like to extend their thanks for the outstanding compassionate care she received at Mt Carmel Care Center.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Graveside services will be held, FRIDAY, March 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Pittsfield Cemetery. Those attending are asked to meet inside the gates. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the Missions Program at Christian Assembly Church in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201
