Obituary for Victoria A. Mathes

Victoria A. Mathes, 65, of 48 Brown Street passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on October 2, 1950 in Pittsfield, she was the daughter of Frank and Anne Snow Juliano. A longtime Pittsfield resident, she was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1968 graduate of Pittsfield High School. She married her husband, the late Ralph C. Mathes on August 18, 1984 in Pittsfield. He died on May 12, 2015. A homemaker, she was employed at one time at the former J.J. Newberry's on North Street and also worked as a taxi driver. She was a communicant of the former Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was an avid bell and record collector. She enjoyed music and bowling and had bowled in the Friday Nighter's League at Candle Lanes. She was a longtime volunteer for the Jimmy Fund and had also hosted Halloween costume events to raise money for both Muscular Dystrophy and Cerebral Palsy. She was also an avid fan of the New York Yankees and New York Mets. She leaves her daughter; Mimi J. Mathes of Pittsfield with whom she resided. Four brothers; Frank L. Juliano of Leominster, MA, William R. Juliano of Pittsfield and twin brothers; John T. Juliano and Jarold J. Juliano both of Lenox. Three sisters; Kathleen M. Meyers, Patricia J. Rossi and Judith C. Barcher all of Pittsfield. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister; the late Marilyn A. Boesse.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Celebration of Life for Victoria A. Mathes of Pittsfield who passed away on September 23, 2016 will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Polish Falcons Club on Belair Avenue in Pittsfield. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. Memorial donations in memory of Victoria may be made to the Friends of Renal Dialysis at Berkshire Medical Center in care of the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, MA 01201 which is handling arrangements.
