Obituary for Victor V. Supranowicz

VICTOR VINCENT SUPRANOWICZ, 85, of 26 Prospect Street, Lanesborough,died Monday, February 11, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, October 19, 1922, a son of Paul A. and Jadwiga J. Morowska
Supranowicz, he was a 1940 graduate of Pittsfield High School and
attended the former Berkshire Business College.
He served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Supranowicz was employed by General Electric Company as a planner.
He retired in 1982 with 43 years service.
He was a communicant of North American Martyrs Church and a member of the
General Electric Quarter Century and Pensioners Clubs. He played baseball for the Shire City and General Electric leagues, and coached
Babe Ruth League in Lanesborough. He was a substitute disc jockey for the Polka
Express program and Polish Weekend program.
Mr. Supranowicz leaves his wife, the former Jeanne Plantier, whom he married
July 20, 1946. Besides his wife, Mr. Supranowiz leaves three daughters, Diann Reed of
Pittsfield, Susan Supranowicz and her husband, Mark Phelps of New Ashford, and Ann
May and her husband, Brian of Holyoke; a brother, Leon Supranowicz of Pittsfield; five
sisters, Pauline Merrill of Pittsfield, Edith Farr of Dover, New Hampshire, Adele
Lefebvre of Wildomar, California, Teresa Morrissey of Belchertown, and Louise Fillio of
Wilmington; six grandchildren, Eric Reed and Beth Reed, Jason May and Kevin May,
and Meredith Phelps and Adrienne Phelps; two great grandchildren, Calvin Green and
Emmeryl Reed. He was pre-deceased by his brothers, John, Emil, Donald, and Stanley;
sister, Stephanie Mlynarczyk, and son-in-law, Thomas Reed.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for VICTOR VINCENT SUPRANOWICZ will be Friday,
February 15, at 10:00 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of
Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at North American Martyrs Church, celebrated by
Rev. David R. Raymond, Pastor. Burial will be at a later date in Mountain View
Cemetery in Lanesborough. Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to
7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of
Mr. Supranowicz may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires, Lanesborough
Fire Department, or to the American Cancer Society in care of the Funeral Home,
54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
