Obituary for Tracyee A. Afari

TRACYEE ALEXANDER AFARI, 51, of 89 John Street, Pittsfield, died Monday evening at her home.
Born in Pittsfield, July 1, 1955, a daughter of Earl G. and Iris Bowery Persip,
she was a 1973 graduate of Taconic High School and attended Berkshire Community
College. At the time of her death, Mrs. Afari was a client manager for Berkshire County Association for Retarded Citizens where she had worked the past twenty years. She had previously worked as a managing supervisor at Side By Side.
As a child, she attended First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Afari enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and grandchildren.
She leaves her husband, Patrick Afari, whom she married September 18, 2005.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Afari is survived by three daughters, Stacy Norwood
of Dumfries, Virginia, Monique Johnson of Pittsfield, and Janelle Alexander of Pittsfield;
three brothers, Allen Nolan of Hamilton, Bermuda, Lloyd Nolan of Pittsfield, and Earl
G. Persip, Jr., of Pittsfield; a sister, Erma Golden of Northampton, and six grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for TRACYEE ALEXANDER AFARI, who died Monday, May 28, will be held Saturday, June 2, at 11:00 a.m., at Second Congregational Church, with Rev. Willard H. Durant, Pastor Emeritus of Price Memorial A.M.E. Zion Church,officiating. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL
HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Afari may be made to the
Five Wives Scholarship Fund in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mrs. Afair also leaves her six grandchildren, Donn Norwood, Jr., Isaiah Norwood,
Savon Norwood, Macaila Green, Shalin Green, and Noah Scott, as well as six nieces and
nine nephews. She was pre-deceased by a sister, Althea Patrick.
