Obituary for Thomas W. Cassavant

Thomas William Cassavant, 62, of St. Cloud, Florida, died Monday, January 28,
2013, St. Cloud Regional Medical Center in St. Cloud, Florida, after a long battle with
Parkinson's disease.
Born in Boston on June 14, 1950, a son of Ruth Miller Cassavant and the late
Albert P. Cassavant, he was educated in Lenox schools and Cornwall Academy in
Great Barrington.
Mr. Cassavant was employed General Electric Company in the Power Transformer Department for twenty years retiring in 1990 due to Parkinson's Disease.
He enjoyed collecting antique trains and riding on antique trains. He was a
Nascar fan and an avid Red Sox fan, watching all of their games. He especially enjoyed
walking his dog. In his younger years, he was a member of the Brodie Mountain Ski
Patrol.
Besides his mother of New Lebanon, New York, he is survived by a brother,
Peter J. Cassavant and his wife, Laura, of Lenox; a son, Eric Cassavant and his wife,
Charlene, of Pittsfield; a daughter, Megan Harrison of Pittsfield; his companion, Bernadette Mueller of St. Cloud, Fla., three grandchildren, Aaron, Brett, and Gabb; and two nieces, Alyssa Cassavant and Amanda Towne.
He was pre-deceased by his father, Albert P. Cassavant, in 2008, and his sister, Susan Ann Cassavant, who died in 1978.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Thomas W. Cassavant will be private with burial to be in
Mountain View Cemetery in Lenox. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire Humane Society or to the Eleanor
Sonsini Animal Shelter in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
