Obituary for Theresa R. Whitacre

Theresa Rosalie Whitacre, 89, of Side By Side Assisted Living, 120 Onota Street, Pittsfield, died peacefully Monday, July 18, 2016, at Mount Carmel Care Center. Our family would like to thank both Side By Side and Mount Carmel for their dedication to one's dignity and spiritual
well-being. Mrs. Whitacre was born in Pittsfield on December 10, 1926, she is the daughter of the late John and Laura Edwards Sickell.
She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center.
She enjoyed doing crafts and attending local fairs and bazaars. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
Mrs. Whitacre is survived by a son, Robert Sickell and his wife, Glenda, of Dalton; two daughters, Christine Hassan and her husband, Eric, of Savoy, and Linda Whitacre of Pittsfield; a sister, Cecelia Roberts of Pittsfield; seven grandchildren, Bruce, Vanna, Pamela, Randy, Christopher, Anthony and Dawn; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and by her long time friend, Arlene Stockley.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, three sisters and her husband, Mark Whitacre.





FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Theresa Rosalie Whitacre will be held Wednesday, July 27, at 1:30 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Richard Hayes, Chaplain of Hospice Care in The Berkshires, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ralph J. Froio Senior Center or Hospice Care in the Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA.
