Obituary for Thelma P. Wells

THELMA P. WELLS, 89, a resident of of 445 Frost Road, Washington, for the
past 46 years, died Wednesday, August 30, at her home.Born in Williamstown, August 26, 1917, a daughter of Charles and Addie Haley
Leonard, she was educated in Hartford, Connecticut, schools. Mrs. Wells was a homemaker. At one time, she had worked as a waitress. She was a lifetime member of Berkshire Family History Association where she served as treasurer.She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and of The Mayflower Society. She enjoyed genealogy, cooking, and being with her grandchildren, great grand-
children, and great great grandchildren.
Her husband, Kenneth J. Wells, Sr., whom she married June 6, 1934, in Hartford,
Connecticut, died October 27, 2000.
Mrs. Wells is survived by two sons, Robert R. Wells and Larry B. Wells both of
Washington, Massachusetts; a daughter, Patty Burke of Ocala, Florida; twelve grand-
children, twenty-five great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. She was
pre-deceased by a son, Kenneth J. "Skippy" Wells, Jr., who died February 4, 1988.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for THELMA P. WELLS, who died Wednesday, August 30,
will be Saturday, September 2, at 9:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Burial will follow
in Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown where Rev. Mark J. Burke, S.J., of St. Patrick and St. Raphael Parish will offer prayers at the grave. Calling hours will be today, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Wells may be made to Berkshire Medical Center Cancer Research in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mrs. Wells was also pre-deceased by her sister, Eleanore Wells who died in October 1984.
