Obituary for Suzanne V. LeBlanc

Suzanne Veronica LeBlanc, 91, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at
Berkshire Medical Center after a short illness.
Born in Northampton on March 4, 1921, a daughter of James and Susan Martin
Desmond, she was a graduate of Amherst High School and a 1944 graduate of St. Luke's
Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsfield.
She began her nursing career at Cooley-Dickinson Hospital in Northampton and
was later at St. Luke's Hospital in Pittsfield.
Mrs. LeBlanc was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had been a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and its Ladies of St. Anne Guild.
She was a member of St. Luke's School of Nursing Alumni.
Mrs. LeBlanc enjoyed sewing, knitting, quilting, and reading. Her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her husband, Dalard J. LeBlanc, whom she married June 3, 1944, in St. Bridget's
Church in Amherst, died May 17, 1974.
Mrs. LeBlanc is survived by three daughters, Kathleen M. Aherne and her husband, V. Patrick of Pittsfield, Suzanne Barenski and her husband, Peter, Sr., of
Glendale, and Margaret A. Guerrieri and her husband, David, of Gansevoort, New York; two sons, Richard D. LeBlanc of Pittsfield, and Thomas D. LeBlanc and his wife, Julie, of Dalton; a brother, Edward Desmond of Hampton, New Hampshire; ten grand-
children, Kelly, Cara, Amy, Brian, Peter, Jr., David, Justine, Mark, Tristan, and Jennifer; and twelve grandchildren, Madeline, Emily, Ava, Sydney, Cameryn, Alexis, Emma, Sophia, Allie, Kayla, Austin, and Cayden.
She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Mary Leal and Margaret Wziontka.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Suzanne Veronica LeBlanc, will be held Monday, January 14, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church celebrated by
Rev. Peter M. Naranjo, II., Parochial Vicar. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. LeBlanc may be made to St. Luke's Hospital Alumni Association or to the Berkshire Humane Society both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
