Obituary for Susan A. Stegemann

Susan A. Stegemann, 50, of 121 Adams Road in Hinsdale died Monday at Berkshire Medical Center. Born on August 10, 1962 in Adams, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Katherine Wilson Kirk. She had resided in Hinsdale for the past eighteen years and prior to that had resided in North Adams. She was educated in Adams schools and was a 1980 graduate of McCann Technical School in North Adams. Susan had been employed in various positions at Big Y Foods in North Adams and Pittsfield for over twenty-six years. An avid outdoorsperson, she enjoyed sailing, kayaking, hiking, X-country skiing, camping, and golf. She also took great interest in gardening and cooking along with traveling and exploring out of the way places, always looking for unique locations out of the oridinary and off the beaten path. She leaves her husband; Albert R. Stegemann of Hinsdale whom she married on September 16, 1989. Her daughter; Monica K. Stegemann of Hinsdale, her step-son; Joshua G. Stegemann of Stephentown, NY and her step-daughter; Sarah B. Stegemann of Pittsfield. Two sisters; Bonnie Sawyer and her husband Alan of Savoy, MA and Theresa Hosier and her husband Michael of North Adams. Two brothers; Ken Kirk and his wife Jane of Salem, West Virginia and James Kirk and his wife Tiffany of North Carolina. She also leaves her two sisters-in-law; Joan Riley of Bernhards Bay, NY and Alice Eccleston of Baldwinsville, NY and her father-in-law; Harold A. Stegemann of Conklin, NY.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours for Susan A. Stegemann, 50, of Hinsdale who died November 26, 2012 will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 PM at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton. Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial donations in memory of Susan may be made to the American Cancer Society Breast Cancer Research in care of the funeral home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226.
