Obituary for Stephen D. Gratton

Stephen David Gratton, 74, of 39 Howe Road, Pittsfield, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at his home.
Born in Pittsfield on December 16, 1938, a son of Anthony and Savina Breault
Gratton, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph
Central High School.
He served with the United States Army from 1957 to 1960.
Mr. Gratton was employed by General Electric company as a steam fitter in the
Maintenance Department. He retired in 1991 with twenty six years service.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and had been a communicant of
the former Notre Dame Church.
He enjoyed going to the Berkshire Mall and visiting with friends. He also
enjoyed music.
Mr. Gratton's wife, the former Vera L. Mackie, whom he married August 16,
1975, in Notre Dame Church, died November 6, 1993.
He is survived by a brother, Alphonse "Pete" Gratton of Hinsdale, and many
nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by three sisters, Jeannine Macchi, Martina "Tina" LeVardi,
and Joan Gratton.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Stephen David Gratton will be held Saturday, December 29,
at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at
9:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Church celebrated by Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Dery Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Gratton may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
