Obituary for Stanley W. Wojtkowski Jr.

STANLEY WILLIAM WOJTKOWSKI, JR., 61, of 63 Loumar Drive, Pittsfield,
died Sunday, January 17, while on vacation in Florida. Born in Pittsfield, November 12, 1948, son of the late Stanley W. Wojtkowski,
Sr., and the late Ailene M. Wasson Burnham, he was a 1967 graduate of Pittsfield
High School. Continuing his education, he graduated in 1972 from University of
Massachusetts School at Amherst where he earned a bachelor's degree in business
administration with a major in management.
He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States National Guard from 1970 to
1979. Mr. Wojtkowski was owner and broker of Berkshire Agency, Inc., on Summer
Street in Pittsfield, since 1982. He was a Massachusetts Approved Appraiser since 1991.
Stan was a member of the Berkshire County Board of Realtors. He served four
terms as treasurer, and in 1987, was elected president of the 700-member organization.
He was selected 1988 Realtor of the Year. He had also served four two-year terms on
the Massachusetts Association of Realtors and was a member of the Executive
Committee. He had served two terms as Treasurer of the Multiple Listing Service of
of Berkshire County.
Active in the community, as well, Mr. Wojtkowski worked with Habitat For
Humanity, volunteering his appraisal services. He served on the Board of Directors of
the West Side Neighborhood Resource Center, and on the West Side Initiative Steering
Committee. He was a long-time member of Kiwanis, a member of the Trustees of the
Reservation, and had been a West Little League Coach. Mr. Wojtkowski leaves his wife, the former Merrilyn Walton, whom he married
in 1978. Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Todd R. Wojtkowski of
Wallingford, Connecticut, James S. Wojtkowski and his fianc�e, Karri Sweet of
Pittsfield, and Daniel F. Wojtkowski also of Wallingford; a daughter, Catherine Hyde and
her husband, Robert, of Pittsfield; two grandsons, Christopher T. Wojtkowski and Jude J.
Wojtkowski; a sister, Aimee Burnham-Renauld and her husband, Edward, of Huntington,
Massachusetts; a brother, Steve Wojtkowski and his wife, Rose, of Pittsfield; and many
aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, and cousins.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for STANLEY W. WOJTKOWSKI, JR., who died Sunday,
January 17, will be Saturday, January 23, at 10:00 a.m., at the First Church of Christ in
Pittsfield, Congregational, with Rev. Dr. James Lumsden, Pastor, officiating. Burial will
follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the
DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr.
Wojtkowski may be made to Habitat for Humanity in care of the Funeral Home, 54
Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
