Obituary for Shirley Ann Rocca

SHIRLEY ANN ROCCA, 70, a resident of Kimball Farms in Lenox, formerly of 31 Pacific Street, Pittsfield, died Monday afternoon at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, June 24, 1937, the daughter of Sarah Elizabeth Roach Dawes, she was a graduate of Old Forge High School in Pennsylvania and had attended Eastern Bible Institute.
A bookkeeper by profession, Mrs. Rocca had first been employed by Berkshire Hardware and Shapiro Motors. She retired in 2002 from City of Pittsfield Retirement
Department where she had been the bookkeeper for 17 years.
She was a member of Christian Assembly Church where she sang in the choir for more than 30 years. She was a Sunday School teacher, who was also involved with the women's ministries, and directed youth ministries with her late husband.
Her husband, John Rocca, whom she married October 18, 1958, died November 19, 2003.
Mrs. Rocca is survived by a son, Rev. Robert J. Rocca of Goodyear, Arizona; a
daughter, Cynthia L. Rocca of Richmond; two brothers, Wayne Dawes of Taylor, Pennsylvania and David Dawes of Howell, New Jersey; a sister, Elizabeth Dawes of Taylor, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and one great grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for SHIRLEY ANN ROCCA, who died Monday, November 26,
will be Friday, November 30, at 10:00 a.m., at Christian Assembly Church, with Rev.
Joseph Nieves, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling
hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Rocca leaves her daughter-in-law, Kimberly, her four grandchildren,
Angela, Amanda, Brandon, and Victoria, and her great grandson, Julian.
