Obituary for Shirley Ann Pulver

Shirley Ann Cornock Pulver, 85 of Pittsfield, passed away from Covid-19 on Friday May 6, 2022 at Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Pittsfield on August 29, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ann Wolf Cornock. She attended Pittsfield schools and graduated from Pittsfield High School with the class of 1954. She went on to graduate from Holliston College.

Shirley was an office manager for many years, having been employed by Dr. Harrington, Berkshire Mutual Insurance Company, and the Berkshire Council on Alcoholism. She was also a member of the VFW and former President of the Ladies Auxiliary. For 18 years, she was a member of the Polish Falcons of America, Nest 580, where she enjoyed countless social events with friends and family. Her favorite pastimes included reading, dancing, attending shows at the theater, crossword puzzles, scrabble, shuffleboard, and connecting with loved ones on Facebook.

Shirley is survived by her daughters Kathleen A. Cornock Sheerin, Judith A. Toomey, and Melissa A. LaPointe and husband Richard, all of Pittsfield. She also leaves grandchildren Matthew Toomey and wife Tiara, William Toomey, Darci Hess and husband Christopher, Danielle LaPointe, and Amber LaPointe; and great-grandchildren Lexy, Kaden, Danica, Whitney, and Sophia Toomey, and Charlotte and Livia Hess. As well as her beloved cat, Kit. She was predeceased by her daughter, Laurie A. Paolera.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 1pm-3pm at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. A celebration of life will be held at the Polish Falcons, 32 Bel Air Ave, Pittsfield, from 4pm-7pm. The family requests masks be worn by those attending services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to Bluebird Farm Animal Sanctuary in care of the funeral home.
