Obituary for Shawn E. Filiault
Shawn E. Filiault, 39, of 146 Forest Hill Drive in Hinsdale died Friday, February 5, 2016 at Berkshire Medical Center after suffering an apparent heart attack.
Born on February 3, 1977 in Pittsfield, he was the son of Edward W. Filiault Jr. and Christine Bean Filiault of Hinsdale. Shawn was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1995 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. He had also taken courses at Berkshire Community College. He resided in Hinsdale for the past twenty-eight years. Shawn had been employed as a machinist for twenty years at Boyd Converting in Lee and most recently worked as an apprentice optician. He enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. He also enjoyed kayaking and white water rafting as well as camping with his daughter and friends. He leaves his parents Edward and Christine Filiault of Hinsdale and his daughter; Lilah "Lou" Frissell-Filiault of Hinsdale. His paternal grandmother; Maria Filiault of Pittsfield and his two uncles; Brian and Bob Filiault. He also leaves his former wife; Erin Frissell of Hinsdale and his best friends; Mario Godbout and Jadrian Smith whom- he thought of as his brothers as well as many cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his infant brother; Eric Filiault, his maternal grandparents; Theodore and Mary Bean, his paternal grandfather; Edward W. Filiault Sr. and by his uncle; Ernest Filiault.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Shawn E. Filiault of Hinsdale who died February 5, 2016 will be held Saturday at 12 noon at the DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME in Dalton conducted by Deacon George Morrell of St. Agnes Church in Dalton. Burial will take place in the spring in the Maple Street Cemetery in Hinsdale. Calling hours for Shawn will be held Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:00 noon prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Shawn's memory may be made to the Lilah Frissell-Filiault Education Fund that was established at Greylock Federal Credit Union in care of the Dery-Foley Funeral Home, 890 Main Street, Dalton, MA 01226
