Obituary for Sandra A. Alfonso

Sandra Ann Alfonso, 74, of Burbank St., formerly of 48 Holly St., Pittsfield died September 28, 2016 at the Berkshire Medical Center. Born in Adams, the daughter of the late Elmer "Bud" and Elizabeth Dimitropolis Dawley, she was educated in Pittsfield Schools and was a 1960 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
Sandra was employed as a manager at Elder Services for twenty-seven years. Prior to that she worked at Elder Services of Hudson New York for six years while also running the Meals on Wheels program. Sandra was also a waitress for many years at Berkshire Hills and the Taconic Park Restaurant.
Sandra was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, she also enjoyed bowling, BINGO, casinos and taught swimming at the Y.M.C.A.
Sandra is survived by two sons; Keith Alfonso and his wife Pam of Pittsfield, Dwayne Alfonso and his former wife Michele of Pittsfield, a daughter; Linda Gelineau of Pittsfield, a brother; John Dawley of Lenox, MA, 12 Grandchildren and 7 Great-Grandchildren, and her former husband Frank Alfonso of Stamford, VT; and many other close friends.
Sandra was predeceased by a son; Brian Alfonso.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Sandra Ann Alfonso who died September 28, 2016 will be held Monday, October 3, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., at the DERY FUNERAL HOME in Pittsfield with the Rev. Cricket Cooper, Rector of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pittsfield Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday October 2, 2016 from 4 to 7p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Berkshire Humane Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield.
