Obituary for Samuel Alan "Sam" Skurk
Samuel Alan Skurk, 54, of Pittsfield, MA, passed away December 20, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse, NY on May 28, 1966, to the late Robert and Lenore Seidberg Skurk.
Sam attended Nottingham High School and graduated from SUNY Fredonia in 1988. He worked in the pensions department of Guardian Life Insurance, and prior to that he worked for KB Toy Stores and Hills Department Stores.
Sam was an avid bowler, having won four 300 rings. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, woodworking, crafts and was a member of the LaRochelle Auto Racing Team for the last six years.
Mr. Skurk is survived by his wife, Ann Thauer Skurk of Pittsfield; two sons, Brandon Skurk of CO, and Aaron Skurk of CO; sisters, Alice Salita of AZ, Marti Rhyne of AK, Pam Kanthor of TX, and Jennifer Hunter of NY.
He was predeceased by his sister Linda Mahaney Margolius.
There will be no services. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or the Berkshire Humane Society in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield, MA 01201.
