Obituary for Ruth C. Pemble

Ruth Clark Pemble, 91, formerly of 69 Baker Street, Lanesboro, Ma. died Sunday at Calvin Coolidge Nursing Center in Northampton, Ma.
Born on August 8, 1917 in Dalton, Ma. a daughter of the late Nelson S. and Helen Dewey Clark. She was a graduate of the former Dalton High School. She was last employed as the receptionist for eleven years at Mount Greylock Regional High School retiring in 1975. She was a former director of the Massachusetts Parent Teachers Association and one of the founding members of the Lanesboro Parent Teachers Association. She was a member of Saint Luke's Episcopal Church in Lanesboro. She was a former member of the Lanesboro Senior Center and Recreation Committee. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and tending to her home. She was the wife of Daniel Earl Pemble whom she married January 29, 1936; he died December 23, 2001. She is survived by her beloved children, Beverly A. McCaleb of Easthampton, Ma. Daniel C. Pemble and his wife Joanne of Avon Park, Florida and Richard N. Pemble and his wife Jackie of Asbury Park, New Jersey. Two sisters, Virginia A. Radway of Waterford, Conn. and Mary J. Prowse of Bradenton, Florida. Her seven adored grandchildren, John, Matthew and Mark McCaleb, Daniel Pemble, Jr. Tracie and Renee Pemble and Shellie Ann Lennon, also survived by her loving eleven great grandchildren and six nieces and seven nephews. A memorial service will be held at a later date at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lanesboro. There are no calling hours. The family suggests that memorials in her memory be made to St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Lanesboro in lieu of flowers. Dery Funeral Home 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. is handling arrangements.
