Obituary for Royal "Mickey" Billings

Royal F. "Mickey" Billings, 84 of 130 McIntosh Drive, Pittsfield, Ma. died peacefully Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family and friends.
Born on December 8, 1929, in Framingham, MA, a son of the late Royal and Agnes Atwell Billings. He attended schools in Framingham and was a graduate of Framingham High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Navy. Mr. Billings was last employed in assembly production at Kimberly-Clarke in Lee, MA for 20 years. He also at onetime had worked at Dixon's Garage on Elm St. in Pittsfield. He enjoyed cooking, history, art, singing and shopping, camping and going to Las Vegas. In his youth he made the best fried clams in New England that people would drive miles for to purchase them from him. He was a kind and generous good hearted man who will be greatly missed by all of the lives he has touched. His beloved wife the former Mildred J. Shogry whom he married July 27, 1970 died February 6, 2012.
He is survived by his daughter: Lynne V. Scott of Pittsfield; a sister: Florence Guarino of Lyons, New York; two granddaughters: Kathryn E. Scott and Rebecca R. Tolisano both of Pittsfield; a great-grandson: Cameron R. Menard of Pittsfield; Close Family friends: Jackie and Dante "Jamie"; and his dog and best friend: "Mojo" Badula.
Special Thank You to Doug and Robyn of the VNA for their compassionate care shown to Royal. He was predeceased by a sister: Pearl and brothers: Harold and Raymond.

FUNERAL NOTCE: Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the Pittsfield Cemetery. The DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St., Pittsfield, MA 01201 is handling arrangements.
