Obituary for Rosemary Chaiffre

Rosemary Chaiffre, 91, formerly of Berkshire Town Apartments, 176 Columbus Ave. died Friday morning, December 27, 2013 at Hillcrest Commons where she has resided since Oct. of 2013. Born on November 28, 1922 in Pittsfield a daughter of the late Louis and Rose Mary Soutier Viner. She attended schools in Pittsfield and was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
She had been employed for many years at the former Rice Silk Mill. She was a member of the Ralph Froio Senior Center and at one time had held the office of vice president, and had also been involved with the senior float for the July 4th parade.
She was a communicant of Saint Charles Church, and enjoyed, dancing, traveling, playing cards and bingo. She was the wife of H. Arthur Chaiffre whom she married June 20, 1942 at St. Joseph's, he died January 29, 1984. She is survived by a son, Gerald A. Chaiffre and his wife Christine of Palmer, Ma. A daughter, Judith K. Wilson and her husband Gary of Raleigh, North Carolina. Seven grandchildren, Karen Martello, Amanda White, William Chaiffre, Melissa Hibbard, Arthur Chaiffre, Ryan Chaiffre and Hunter Chaiffre. Six great grandchildren, Cory, Heather, Noah, Lauren, Jamie and Amber. She was predeceased by three brothers and one sister.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services will be held Friday, January 10, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. from the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield, Ma. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Charles Church, celebrated by the Rev. Peter A. Gregory, pastor. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday, Jan. 9th, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home
