Obituary for Rosemary Moran

Rosemary Moran of 42 School St. in Dalton died at Hillcrest Commons on October 23, 2017. Born in Pittsfield on November 4, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Chester and Mary Broderick Hanford. She was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph High School and also graduated from the former Berkshire Business School. She worked at New England Telephone Company for 33 years retiring in 1983. She was a communicant of St. Agnes Church and was active in Dalton Democratic Town Committee and promoting any Democratic politician and the Morningside O.C.A. She was married to the late Cornelius John Moran who died April 9, 2012. She is survived by one daughter Mary Brower of Pittsfield and two sons Joseph Moran and Jerome Moran both of Dalton also a sister Judith Hitt of Dalton, two granddaughters Katie Dobson and her husband Mike, and Christine Niccoli. She also leaves 4 nieces and 2 nephews and many cousins on the Hanford side of the family. She was pre-deceased by a stepson Michael Moran.

Funeral Notice: Funeral Services for Rosemary Moran (85) will be held Saturday, October 28, 2017 with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., celebrated by Rev. Christopher Malatesta, Pastor. Burial will follow in Ashuelot Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday, October 27 at DERY-FOLEY FUNERAL HOME (in Dalton) from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Dalton Ambulance in care of the funeral home 890 Main St., Dalton, 01226.
