Obituary for Rose Marie Viens (Ancora)
Rose Marie Ancora Viens, 83, of Pittsfield passed away after a long illness.
Born in Pittsfield on May 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Rose Fournier Ancora.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School in Pittsfield. Rose married Arthur J. Viens on February 4, 1956. He predeceased her in 2010.
She was primarily a homemaker and prior to having her children, Mrs. Viens was a hairdresser She also had been employed at Joann Fabrics for 10 years. She enjoyed all crafts, cooking, and baking. Mrs. Viens was a communicant of the former Notre Dame Church and St. Joseph Church.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer Viens and spouse Lucille Deruisseau of Palm Harbor, FL, and Nicole Elser of Pittsfield. Her grandchildren, Austin and Lucie Viens-Deruisseau, and Molly, Sophie and Sara Elser; as well as her brother, Michael Ancora of Pittsfield, and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother, Sister Rose Ancora, husband Arthur, infant daughter Rose, and siblings Joseph Ancora and Marie Fazio.
FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held, THURSDAY, January 5, 2023 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, celebrated by Rev. Steven Montesanti, Pastor. Calling hours will be held WEDNESDAY, January 4, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield.
