Obituary for Rose Marie Gresser

Rose Marie Gresser,67, of 7 Birchwood Terrace in Dalton, died at home Friday, September 8, 2006 from leukemia. Born in New York City, Nov.19,1938 she was the daughter of the late Felix and Theresia Freudemann Halder. She and her parents moved back to Germany as an infant where she later attended school thru our equivalent of high school. She then took more schooling as a seamstress. Moving back to the United States of America in 1959, she and her husband, Peter L. Gresser of whom she married Aug. 17,1961 had owned and operated Morningside Bakery for the past 25 years. A communicant of St Agnes Church she also enjoyed her flower gardens, cooking, baking, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Besides her husband she leaves one daughter, Heidi M. Vidoli of Dalton and two sons, Michael P. Gresser of Pittsfield and Stephen P. Gresser of Dalton, one sister Charlotte Keller of Alsbach, Germany, a brother Robert Halder of Rosenheim, Germany and six grandchildren.

Funeral Notice: Rose, the "Center Of Her Family" will be lovingly missed by her grandchildren, Brian, Ashley, Brittany, Logan, Brenna, Nicholas, and a grandchild on the way, her son-in-law Edward Vidoli and daughters-in-law Tammy Gresser and Kala Gresser. She was also pre-deceased by a brother Kurt Halder who died in 1999. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held Monday at St. Agnes Church in Dalton at 9:30 AM celebrated by the Rev. Christopher J. Malatesta , pastor. Following the Mass friends and family are welcome to meet with the family for a Celebration Of Life at the Berkshires Hills Country Club. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either Hospice Care of the Berkshires or The Leukemia Society in care of the DERY-FOLEY Funeral Home 890 Main St. Dalton 01226.
