Obituary for Ronald L. Monteleone

RONALD L. 'RON' MONTELEONE, 74, of 115 Prospect Street, Lanesborough,
died Tuesday, December 8, after being stricken at his business, Monteleone Flooring,
on Laurel Street in Pittsfield.
Born in Pittsfield, March 20, 1935, a son of Joseph J. Monteleone, Sr., and
Evelyn Frenier Monteleone, he was a 1952 graduate of Pittsfield High School.
In 1952, Mr. Monteleone went to work for Master Craft Tile where he worked
until 1955 when he opened his own business, Monteleone Flooring, which he continued to own and operate until the time of his death.
In 1982, Mr. Monteleone and his brother-in-law, John Sinopoli, purchased the
former Latshaw's Restaurant on upper North Street, which they owned and operated
as Giovanni's Restaurant until selling the business in 1996.
Mr. Monteleone was a communicant of St. Charles Church. He was a member
of the Knights of Columbus.
He enjoyed traveling and going to Naples, Florida. He also enjoyed family
picnics and spending time with his nieces and nephews. Mr. Monteleone leaves his wife, the former Tina C. Sinopoli, whom he married
November 30, 1963, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother, Joseph J. Monteleone, Jr., and his
wife, Becky, of North Fort Myers, Florida; his cousin, George Dlugos of Richmond,
Massachusetts; seven nephews, Jeffrey Monteleone, John Monteleone, Mark Tatro,
Bobby Tatro, Eddie Sinopoli, Gino Sinopoli, and Rico Sinopoli; four nieces, Jane
Bellora, Toni Webb, Edwina Talifero, and Tina LaDoucer; and a great niece, Lindsay
Tatro. He was pre-deceased by a nephew, Joe "Spanky " Monteleone, III; a sister-in-
law, JoAnne Monteleone and a brother-in-law, Edward Sinopoli.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A Liturgy of Christian Burial, celebrating the life of RONALD L.
MONTELEONE who died Tuesday, December 8, will be held Saturday, December 12,
at 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Church, with Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In
lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Monteleone may be made to Hillcrest
Educational Centers in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
