Obituary for Ronald H. Cormier

RONALD HENRY CORMIER, 63, of Epworth Arms, Pittsfield, died Friday,
June 12, at Berkshire Medical Center following a long battle with diabetes.
Born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on May 15, 1946, the son of the late Henry
and Edith Brazee Cormier, he was educated in Pittsfield schools.
He served with the United States Marine Corps during the Viet Nam War.
Among his commendations and medals of distinction, he was the recipient of a Purple
Heart in February 1964 and a Bronze Star.
Mr. Cormier had been employed as a security guard with the former K-B Toys,
Inc., in Pittsfield from where he worked 15 years before retiring due to ill health.
Prior to going to K-B, he had worked 14 years as a truck driver for the City of Pittsfield.
He liked to be active. He enjoyed working with plants. He had a special fondness
for Siamese cats.
Mr. Cormier is survived by two daughters, Charlotte A. McFarland of Dallas,
Georgia, and Robin A. Bailey of Hull, Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Jonathan,
Jenna, Thalia, Nicki, and Marisa, and his long-time friend and caregiver, Cheryl Hart.

FUNERAL NOTICE: A memorial service for RONALD HENRY CORMIER, who died Friday, June
12, will be Wednesday, June 17, at 1:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev.
William D. Furey officiating. There are no calling hours.
