Obituary for Ronald B. Clement

Ronald B. Clement, Sr., 81, of Pittsfield, died Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Berkshire
Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Pittsfield on April 14, 1933, the son of Herman A. and Marie Berne Clement, he was a graduate of Pittsfield High School.
A Korean War veteran, Mr. Clement enlisted with the United States Navy on December
8, 1952. He was assigned aboard the USS Tirante from where he served more than three and a half years overseas, and was honorably discharged on December 7, 1956. He then transferred to the United States Naval Reserve Seabees where he continued to serve his country as an Equipment Operator Chief until being honorably discharged on April 21, 1989.
Mr. Clement was employed by the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk in the
Pittsfield Post Office. He retired with eighteen years service.
Prior to going to the Post Office, Mr. Clement helped his father with the operation of
the family business, Clement Dairy, in Pittsfield for many years.
Mr. Clement was a communicant of St. Mark Church and had been a long-time communicant of Notre Dame Church.
He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club Alumni Association, the Elks Club, the Polish Falcons, the American Legion, and the Pontoosuc Country Club.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, and skiing. Spending time with family, especially his grand-
children, gave him greatest pleasure.
Mr. Clement leaves his wife, the former Eileen Frieri, whom he married September 15, 1962, in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He is survived by three sons, Michael A. and his wife, Marsha, of Mobile, Alabama, Ronald B., Jr., and his wife, Peggy, of Pittsfield, and Kevin J. of Orange, Mass.; two brothers, Peter Clement and his wife, Jacqueline, and Anthony Clement, both of Lanesborough; three sisters, Bernice Huska and her fiancé, Ace Burgess, and Lois Stracuzzi, both of Lanesborough, and Fran Wojtkowski and her husband, Conrad, of Pittsfield; as well as eight grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Robin Clement, who died in 2011.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
Funeral services for Ronald B. Clement, Sr., will be held Monday, October 20, with a
Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino,
Pastor. Entombment with military honors will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME in
Pittsfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Berkshire County Jimmy
Fund or to St. Mark Church Food Pantry, both in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street,
Pittsfield.
