Obituary for Ronald H. Belot
RONALD HENRY BELOT, 79, of 54 Oxford Street, Pittsfield, died Sunday,
March 15, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Pittsfield, September 19, 1929, the son of Henry and Rose Gauvin Belot,
he was educated in Pittsfield schools and was a 1947 graduate of St. Joseph Central High
School. He served as a Corporal with the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Belot was employed by General Electric Company in the Power Transformer
Division for many years, retiring as a foreman in 1986. He was a communicant of St. Mark Church.
He was a member of the Pittsfield Senior Center where he took computer classes.
He enjoyed woodworking and restoration of his house. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing,
and archery, as well as weightlifting and staying physically fit.
His wife, the former, Eileen M. Hogan, whom he married July 31, 1954, in St. Charles Church, died January 1, 1996.
Mr. Belot leaves two sons, William F. Belot of Jacksonville, Florida, and David
C. Belot and his wife, Marsha, of St. Petersburg, Florida; two daughters,, Kathryn L. Gomes of King George, Virginia, and Sharon B. Shampang and her husband, Mike, of
Owosso, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for RONALD H. BELOT, who died Sunday, March 15, will be Thursday, March 19, at 8:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m., at St. Mark Church celebrated by Rev. John C. Salatino,
Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be today (Wed-
nesday), from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions
in memory of Mr. Belot may be made to St. Mark Church Food Pantry in care of the
Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
