Obituary for Ronald M. Baczek
Ronald Michael Baczek, 70 of Pittsfield, passed away February 26, 2023 at home, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield on February 9, 1953, he was the son of Charles and Thelma Hathaway Baczek.
He was educated in Dalton schools and was a 1971 graduate of Wahconah Regional High School.
Mr. Baczek married the former Maureen Haley on September 25, 1982 at St. Francis Church in Pittsfield.
Ron was employed for 40 years at Crane and Company, retiring as a warehouse manager.
He enjoyed woodworking, hiking, camping, spending time at the beach and was an avid outdoorsman. He also loved travelling. Most of all, he cherished the time spent with his family and his four grandsons.
Mr. Baczek is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Maureen Baczek of Pittsfield. Two sons, Michael Baczek and wife Justine of Los Angeles, CA, and Jason Baczek of Denver, CO. Daughter, Jessica Baczek and fiancé Matthew Sprauge of Pittsfield. Two brothers, Charles Baczek and wife Linda of FL, and James Baczek and wife Patti of Dalton. A sister, Janice Baczek of Dalton, MA. As well as his four grandsons, John and Jase Sprague and Calvin and Felix Baczek.
He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Phillip Baczek.
FUNERAL NOTICE: Calling hours will be held, Friday, March 3, 2023 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford St, Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to HospiceCare in the Berkshires in care of Dery Funeral Home.
