Obituary for Roma M. Gaylord

Roma M. Gaylord, 82, of 690 Cheshire Road, Lanesborough, died Monday, August 25, 2014, at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Adams on April 11, 1932, the daughter of Joseph E. and Mary Anna LeMire Serre, she was educated in Cheshire schools.
Mrs. Gaylord was a homemaker. She had, at one time, worked for Berkshire Mills,
K-Mart, Red's Dairy Bar, and Springside Laundry. She retired in 2000.
She enjoyed playing cards and was a pitch league member, and playing KENO. She
also enjoyed ceramics, knitting, and crocheting. Being with her family and, as she would say,
"if you can make someone laugh, you gain a friend", were her joy.
Her husband, Bruce Gaylord, whom she married January 29, 1954, in Berkshire Union
Chapel, died August 12, 1988.
Mrs. Gaylord is survived by two daughters, Julie A. Gaylord of Lanesborough and Patti L.
Gaylord of Pittsfield; two sons, Daniel W. Gaylord and his wife, Sandy, of Savoy, and Benny B.
Gaylord of Pittsfield; six sisters, Lucille Stroud and her husband, Richard, of Chandler, Ariz.,
Cecile Ferris and her husband, George, of North Adams, Mary Palmer and her husband, John, of
Pittsfield, Alice Wojcik of Cheshire, Lillian Seckler and her husband, Don, of Pittsfield, and Shirley Hough and her husband, Doug, of the state of Florida; a brother, Leon Serre and his wife, Kathy, of Cheshire; and four grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Bruce, and his wife, Kimberly,
and Katie.
She was pre-deceased by a sister, Jeanette Corbierre, late of Adams and by her brother-in-law; Hank Wojcik.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
A graveside service for Roma M. Gaylord will be held Friday, August 29, at 11:30 a.m., at
Cheshire Cemetery with Rev. William D. Furey, Pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elder Services of Berkshire County in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
