Obituary for Rocco C. Larosa

ROCCO CARMEN LaROSA, 51, of 4 Diane Court, Lanesborough, died Wednesday, January 9, at his home after a two-year battle with cancer.
Born in Pittsfield, September 9, 1956, a son of the late Francisco and Florette
Huska LaRosa, he was a 1974 graduate of Taconic High School where he earned a certificate in mill carpentry. He later attended New England Laborers Training
Academy in Pomfret, Connecticut, in 1975.
A truck driver for many years, Mr. LaRosa was most recently employed by Eco Transport as a fuel desk attendant. He spent nine years at Rouse Motor Express, and eight years at Berkshire Armored Car, and had worked thirteen years at General Electric.
He enjoyed carpentry.
His wife, the former Theresa M. Morgan, whom he married May 16, 1980, died
April 1, 2006. Mr. LaRosa is survived by two stepsons, Robert E. Furey of Thornton, Colorado
and Chad H. LaRosa of Adams [Note: Chad changed his name LaRosa]; two stepdaughters, Chris-Ellen M. Furey of Dalton and Jacquelyn M. Nelson of Pittsfield; a
brother, Francis LaRosa of Seoul, Korea; six grandchildren, and one great grandson.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ROCCO CARMEN LaROSA, who died Wednesday, January 9, will be Saturday, January 12, at 1:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Jennifer Gregg, Priest Associate, and William Frazier, Pastoral Leader, of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Lanesborough. Calling hours will precede the service beginning at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. LaRosa may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. LaRosa leaves his six grandchildren, Joshua A. Furey, Nicholas Furey, Ashley T. Glasener, Evan M. Glasener, Jory R. Nelson, and Asianna T. Nelson, and his great grandson, Noah A. Glasener. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Stephen P. LaRosa, who died April 5, 2006.
