Obituary for Roberta J. Salvatore

ROBERTA JEAN 'COOKIE' SALVATORE, 65, of 11 Stockbridge Road, West
Stockbridge, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Jeannine M. Salvatore,
138 Bradley Street, Lee, with whom she had lived the last two years.
Born in Hinsdale, October 10, 1942, a daughter of Robert and Evelyn Wesley
Cornwell, she was a 1960 graduate of Pittsfield High School. Mrs. Salvatore was employed by General Electric Company as an assembler in
the Naval Ordnance Department. She retired in 1997 with 20 years service.
She enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, the ocean, and going to the
casinos. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Richard P. Salvatore, Sr., whom she married February 6, 1960,
died July 4, 2003.
Mrs. Salvatore is survived by three sons, Richard P. Salvatore, Jr., of Dalton,
Paul W. Salvatore of Lenox Dale, and Michael A. Salvatore of Pittsfield; a daughter,
Jeannine M. Salvatore of Lee, with whom she made her home the last two years; a
brother, Bruce Cornwell of Dalton; four sisters, Rosemary Colvin of Richmond, Vera
Carder of Pittsfield, Janet Marley of Dalton, and Karleen Hubby of Dalton; fourteen
grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ROBERTA JEAN 'COOKIE' SALVATORE, who died
Sunday, November 4, will be Thursday, November 8, at 11:00 a.m., at DERY FUNERAL
HOME, with Rev. William D. Furey, Pastor of Berkshire Union Chapel, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery in West Stockbridge. Calling hours will be
Wednesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions in memory of Mrs. Salvatore may be made to Berkshire Visiting Nurse
Association, HospiceCare in The Berkshires, or to the American Cancer Society, in care
of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.Mrs. Salvatore also leaves her son-in-law, Ronald Lovato; three daughters-in-
law, Jennifer Salvatore, Susan Salvatore, and Jessica Salvatore; fourteen grandchildren,
Joseph Salvatore, Elyssa Salvatore, Samuel Salvatore, Matthew Salvatore, Owen
Salvatore, Jenna Salvatore, Christopher Vaughan, Isabella Lovato, Justin Lovato, Lindsey
Lovato, Shaun Bessette, Christopher Bessette, Caitlyn Bessette, and Aimee Bessette; two
great grandchildren, Tessa Morin and Sophia Bessette; and special thanks to her care-
givers, Temora Allen, Kathy Holian, Leigh Darrow, Nancy Simmons, Linda Barnes,
Billie Jo Rock, and her nieces, Susan Newton and Laura Colvin. She was pre-deceased
by two sisters, Shirley Kaufman and Evelyn Boyer.
