Obituary for Robert R. Secord

ROBERT RAYMOND SECORD, 81, of 155 First Street, Pittsfield, died Tuesday evening at Berkshire Medical Center.
Born in Stoneham, Massachusetts, March 3, 1926, a son of Merrick and
Leda Pratte Secord, he was a 1946 graduate of Pittsfield High School
He served in the United States Navy during World War II. A plumber by trade, Mr. Secord worked for Shedd Plumbing and Heating and
later for Yankee Pluming and Heating. He retired in 1976 with more than 20years
service. He was proficient with computer technology, and volunteered his time as a teacher's assistant in computer education at Berkshire Community College. He was also an avid ham radio operator.
Mr. Secord is survived by three sons, Brian S. Secord of Pittsfield, Bruce A.
Secord of Taylorville, Illinois, and Barry M. Secord of Pittsfield; a daughter, Lynne V.
Scott of North Fort Myers, Florida; and eight grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ROBERT RAYMOND SECORD, who died Tuesday,
September 18, will be private. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contri-
butions in memory of Mr. Secord may be made to Respiratory Care Unit at Berkshire
Medical Center or to HospiceCare in The Berkshires both in care of DERY FUNERAL
HOME, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
Mr. Secord leaves his eight grandchildren, Rebecca R. Tolisano, Kathryn E.
Scott, Peter M. Sprague, Kaitlin A. Secord, Marissa J. Secord, Paige E. Secord, Carly
Garofano, and Savannah Secord; daughter-in-law, Jean P. Sprague; his former
companion, Katherine Link, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased
by a brother, Donald Secord.
