Obituary for Robert D. Ruusukallio

Robert Dennis Ruusukallio, 63, of 68 Boylston Street, Pittsfield, died Friday, November 29, 20l3, at his home.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on September 10, 1950, the son of Matti and Mildred Aeschbach Ruusukallio, he was educated in New Jersey schools and was a graduate of Hoboken High School.

A Viet Nam War veteran, Mr. Ruusukallio enlisted with the United States Navy on October 21, 1968. He served a year and a half overseas. He was honorably discharged on July 1, 1970.

Mr. Ruusukallio was employed by the United States Postal Service in New Jersey for 35 years.
He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church.

He enjoyed fishing and playing backgammon and board games.

Mr. Ruusukallio leaves his wife, the former Ana L. Clavell, whom he married December 16,
1973.

He is also survived by a daughter, Bernadette T. Ruusukallio of Pittsfield; a son, Randy J.
Ruusukallio of Pittsfield; four grandchildren, Emma, Eliza, Lionel, and Roslyn; a great grandson, Calvin;
and two sisters, Linda Jaquins of Great Barrington and Olga McGuigan of Pittsfield.

FUNERAL NOTICE:
A graveside service for Robert D. Ruusukallio will be held Friday, December 6, at 11:00 a.m.,
at Pittsfield Cemetery with Rev. Msgr. Michael A. Shershanovich, Pastor of St. Joseph Church, officiating. (Those attending are invited to meet inside the Cemetery gate at 10:45 a.m.) Calling hours will be Thursday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at DERY FUNERAL HOME. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
