Obituary for Robert L. Reese

ROBERT LESLEY REESE, 65, of 64 Broadway Street, Pittsfield, died Thursday night at his home after a long battle with cancer. He had lived in Pittsfield for twelve years prior to which he had lived in Lanesborough for three years.
Born in Carlisle, New York, August 2, 1941, the son of the late Charles
Reese, Jr., and Margaret Billsen Reese, he was educated in Pittsfield schools and
attended Pittsfield High School.
He served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1965. A general contractor who built homes throughout Berkshire County, Mr. Reese was the owner-operator of Robert L. Reese Construction for more than 40 years retiring
in 1995. He was a member of the Contractors Union, and avid woodworker and master
craftsman. He enjoyed golf and kayaking.
Mr. Reese leaves his wife, the former Carol Boody, whom he married April 10,
1995, in Las Vegas. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert L. Reese, II., of Pittsfield; two daughters, Yvonne Jacobs of Mars, Pennsylvania, and Alina Hewson of Shaftsbury,
Vermont; two stepdaughters, Wende [not Wendy] Ferriter of Pittsfield, and Patti Rogers
of Northbend, Washington; three brothers, Eugene Reese of Williamstown, Donald Reese
of North Adams, and George Reese of Pittsfield; a sister, Charlene MacWhinnie of
Castleton, New York; and eleven grandchildren.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for ROBERT L. REESE, who died Thursday, November 30, will be held Tuesday, December 5, at 12:00 noon at DERY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Charles F. Young, Chaplain of HospiceCare in The Berkshires, officiating. Calling hours will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Reese may be made to HospiceCare in The Berkshires in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield. Mr. Reese was pre-deceased by a sister, Dorothy Reese.
