Obituary for ROBERT L PODOLSKI

ROBERT L PODOLSKI, 72, of 1051 Benton Hill, Becket, died Monday June 6, 2016, at Berkshire Medical Center, Born in Becket on November 1, 1943, the son of John and Catherine Rock Podolski, he was a 1961 graduate of Chester High School and served with the United States Army National Guard. Mr. Podolski retired from the Brien Center in 2013 in Pittsfield, prior to that he worked at Mass Illusion in Lenox and Clark Aiken Mill / ECH Will in Lee, as a machinist and facilities manager.
Mr. Podolski was a member of the Becket Library Trustees, and coached Little League Baseball and Soccer for the towns of Becket and Washington. In his leisure time he gardened, read, and sold rare books. He was a avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. Mr. Podolski leaves his precious wife of 49 years, Brenda Daigle Podolski. He is also survived by two sons, Marc L. Podolski of Highland, NY, and Tyson J. Podolski of Kigali, Africa; a daughter, Krista L. Podolski Lilly and her husband, Daniel, of Norwalk, Conn. and five grandchildren who meant the world to him, Meghan Podolski, Matthew Podolski, Evangeline Podolski, Natasha Lilly, and Jack Robert Lilly.

Funeral services for Robert Podolski will be held Wednesday, June 15th, at 11:00am, at the Becket Federated Church, 3381 Main Street, Becket. Calling hours will be 4pm to 7pm on June 14th at the Derry-Foley Funeral Home, 890 East Main Street, Dalton. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr. Podolski may be made to Becket Athenaeum, in care of the Funeral Home.
